A path from the weight room to the clinic — over a decade coaching athletes before earning a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

My path to becoming a DPT was anything but traditional. From a graduate assistant strength coach at Wayne State University to roles in the private sector, Division I, and NAIA athletics, I built over a decade of experience before becoming Director of Strength & Conditioning at Lawrence Technological University — earning my Master’s in Kinesiology & Exercise Science from Wayne State along the way — and served as a Journal Editor for the International Journal of Health, Nutrition & Exercise Science.

During my years as a strength coach, I kept seeing the same problem: athletes would get cleared and come back to me in the weight room with rehabilitation that never matched the real demands of their sport. That gap between clinical rehab and real-world performance drove me to earn my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Western Michigan University. Now I combine my S&C background with clinical expertise to deliver care that doesn’t just heal — it builds athletes back stronger than before.

In addition to my private practice, I consult with Bear Hawk Fitness and Punch Lab — applying the same evidence-based performance and rehab principles across diverse athletic populations.
